Hydroflux has a number of containerised MBR systems available ex stock and ready for immediate dispatch.

Ideally suited to treat domestic wastewater from camps or resorts, the system will produce effluent of high quality enough to be discharged to coastal, surface or brackish waterways or to be reclaimed for irrigation.

Each MBR is designed to treat the wastewater generated by the equivalent of 250 persons (EP) – It’s modular concept can easily be scaled up for larger camps. Pump stations and splitter systems are included with modular designs for larger camps.

The membrane bioreactor processes compact nature lends itself for construction as a complete pre-assembled “ready to go” wastewater treatment plant entirely inside a 20’ shipping container.

The compact nature of a MBR system means that the entire plant including the reactor, blowers, controls and other ancillary equipment can be installed within a 20” container and have the capacity to treat wastewater from facilities housing up to 250 people. The modular nature of the system also allows two or more containers to be operated in parallel for larger flows.

The Hydroflux Containerised MBR:

•  Is compact with a very low footprint – just a 20’ container
•  Will generate a very high quality disinfected effluent that complies with discharge requirements in most areas worldwide
•  Has a very high tolerance towards variations in load
•  Is modular and easy expandable to handle greater flows
•  Requires very little maintenance and can be monitored remotely
•  Generates far less sludge than conventional wastewater treatment plants and other MBR systems
•  Has a membrane lifespan of 10 years

What is a MBR?

A MBR is an aerobic wastewater treatment process that utilises membranes to separate the biomass from the treated wastewater.

Using membranes to separate biomass has a number of distinct advantages over conventional treatment methods that use clarification or sedimentation to separate biomass.

Using membranes allows very high mixed liquor suspended concentration to exist in the bioreactor. This in turn promotes a long sludge age, reduces sludge volumes and reduces the size of the reactor.

Using membranes to separate the biomass from the wastewater provides a finite barrier that biomass cannot penetrate. This results in a consistent very high quality permeate (treated wastewater) and due to the pore size of the membrane bacteria and virus are also removed.

The core plant design is based on a single 20ft container that houses all necessary process tanks and ancillary equipment.

The membrane bioreactor process is a complete pre-assembled “ready to go” wastewater treatment plant constructed entirely inside a 20’ container.

The MBR systems are all second hand but new and completely unused. The membranes are in their original packaging and undamaged.
