Hydroflux Expands Its Advanced Biosolids Thermal Drying Capabilities
July 29, 2025
With two major biosolids thermal drying projects being delivered for customers in Australia and New Zealand, Hydroflux has built a team of process engineers, project managers and service technicians dedicated to the sizing, design, commissioning and service of thermal dryer systems from HUBER Technology.

“Thermal drying is a specialised technology that requires careful integration into the process. Consideration needs to be given to not only the dryer itself, but the feed system, odour control, automation, discharge system and dried sludge storage silos. With our team based in Sydney and Auckland we are ready to deliver thermal drying technology packages as complete integrated solutions to all parts of the ANZ-Pacific market. With our 100+ team we provide operational support, and even complete operation and maintenance contracts.
Recently we had representatives from our process and project teams undergo advanced training in Europe; last month we had customers from New Zealand visit the HUBER manufacturing facility in Germany together with our project manager for FAT inspections of a BT12 Belt Dryer” says John Koumoukelis, CEO of Hydroflux.

Thermal drying of biosolids provides significant reductions in the volume of sludge that needs to be transported offsite. It also forms a critical step in advanced thermal treatment if processes such as pyrolysis, gasification or incineration are used downstream. HUBER offer Belt Dryers, Disc Dryers and Solar Drying Technologies.
