General Expertise

Hydroflux has designed and constructed wastewater treatment plants in virtually all industrial sectors that generate wastewater.

Some of the more common areas include: Meat and poultry industry, Dairies, Fish and seafood, Beverage sector (breweries and distilleries and soft drinks), Fruit processing, Vegetable processing, Potato and potato chips, Vegetable oil processing, Prepared Foods, Manufacturing, Paper, cardboard and printing and Mining (clarification and algae removal)

At Hydroflux Industrial, our engineers are fully conversant with the internal production processes of manufacturing and processing plants and as such, we understand the sources of the wastewater. This enables us to design complete treatment plants that work efficiently, economically and consistently under all conditions.

We have a comprehensive range of primary treatment equipment such as screens and dissolved air flotation system plus advanced biological processes including sequential bioreactors, membrane bioreactors and moving bed bioreactors. Hydroflux Industrial has extensive experience with the management and handling of sludge generated from primary and secondary treatment plants.

Whether a primary physical chemical process or biological process or sludge dewatering plant is required depends on a number of factors including the discharge requirements (eg sewer or water course) the nature of the industry and the volume of wastewater being discharged.

Primary Treatment processes

Hydroflux has a wealth of experience in the design and construction of primary or physical and chemical treatment plants.

Biological Treatment Processes

Biological treatment plants are mostly designed to reduce the concentrations of BOD, COD and nutrients. Unlike sewage which is reasonable…

Alliteratively, please review some of the case studies below for details on a few industrial wastewater treatment plants Hydroflux has completed.

Pactum (Wastewater treatment plant for long life dairy plant in Western Sydney)

Pactum Ingleburn is a business unit of Freedom Foods Group. The wastewater treatment plant was designed and constructed by Hydroflux Industrial and completed in 2017.

Yeeda Beef (Wastewater treatment plant at a new Abattoir in Western Australia)

The Yeeda Processing Station is located between Broome and Derby in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The wastewater treatment plant was completed and commissioned in 2015.

Baiada Wulkuraka (Poultry Processing wastewater treatment plant in QLD)

The Yeeda Processing Station is located between Broome and Derby in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The wastewater treatment plant was completed and commissioned in 2015.

Transpacific Mackay (Waste Oil Recovery plant in Northern Queensland)

Located at Cleanaway’s Liquid and Industrial Services Facility in Paget, eastern Queensland, the facility receives industrial wastewater from various sources including oil filter recycling and industrial abrasives. The wastewater treatment plant was completed and commissioned in 2016.

NCMC (Chrome removal at a Tannery in Northern NSW)

The Northern Co-operative Meat Company Ltd operates a tannery at Casino NSW as part of its integrated processing service. The wastewater treatment plant was designed to remove Chrome from the wastewater stream and was completed and commissioned in 2015.

Australian Country Choice (Fat removal from an Abattoir red stream in Brisbane)

The ACC Primary Processing facility at Cannon Hill has a daily capacity of 1280 head of beef cattle or approximately 80,000 tonnes of carcase beef per annum. The wastewater treatment plant was designed to remove fats from the red stream and reduce the load on the aerobic ponds.

Baiada Ku-ring-gai (Dissolved air flotation at a poultry further processing plant in Sydney)

The Ku-ring-gai facility is one of Baiada’s newest highly automated advanced processing plants. The wastewater treatment plant was designed to remove solids, fats and BOD to ensure compliance with Sydney Water’s discharge requirements.

HUON (Dissolved air flotation at a fish processing plant in Tasmania)

Just north of Devonport on the Bass Highway, is Huon’s Parramatta Creek processing facility and Smokehouse and Product Innovation Centre. Hydroflux installed a DAF system to reduce the laod on the aerobic lagoons.
